Seen Mr Hewes today as he's going to be the chap whose going to do my operation. I was very nervous prior to my appointment earlier today but Mr Hewes just oozes confidence and put me completely at ease. After telling me about the various choices open to me for surgery and explaining about each option very clearly so it was easy for me to understand I was given as long as I needed to ask any questions before deciding what surgery to have. Mr Hewes told me the rough sort of timescales for everything and was very thorough in telling what to expect. So in a nutshell I entered my appointment this afternoon with nervous trepidation and left 20 minutes later feeling very reassured. Mr Hewes I thank you so much and look forward to seeing you in a couple of months.

Mr Hewes was very welcoming and made me feel at ease straight away. He explained simply my symptoms and what this meant and what treatment was available, he also advised on the benefits and drawbacks of surgery.

I was first seen at the HOT clinic on 14th. January and diagnosed with gallstones. I was monitored for LFT's and when these returned to normal I attended an outpatients appointment on 3rd March where I met Mr Hewes. He explained the procedure, the reasons why it was advisable, any possible risks and recovery times and the expected waiting period before the operation. He, like the rest of the team, was very professional, very friendly and easy to talk to. I have total trust in him and have no reservations about my future treatment.

Mr Hewes listened to what I had to say and went all through my notes from previous tests at other hospitals and had everything to hand, in order to progress to my operation. Mr Hewes put my mind at rest and was able to give me a rough idea of when the operation could take place instead of waiting everyday for news through the mail and so I could plan ahead. Really nice Consultant and his reputation proceeds him from other hospitals I have been at! So many lovely comments from nurses and staff at the hospitals I have recently been to and they were correct.
